For 11 years now we have celebrated Birth, Midwives and our far reaching community of those who really love to talk, network, learn and share…everything about the wonderful and amazing transformation that the Birth journey can be.

A whole weekend to bath in the passion that can over take us all…revitalise your self…

Arrive Thursday to settle in….Malaga or Granada airport best…we are in Orgiva, a small mountain village 40mins south of Granada,southern Spain.

To camp with us you will need your tent, bedding and a torch! The weather is mild in May and there is a communal cooking and chilling space…cosy,  compost loo and bathing in the river.

If you are looking for more luxury there are lots of bed and breakfast or air B&B …google the area it,s beautiful!

In 2018 we will hold Midwives Rock in the new building which has been our dream for many years…

Friday we will meet at 10am a welcome circle to introduce ourselves, followed by a guided meditation towards your own personal hopes and dreams for your future as a birth keeper. Feedback and tea!

We will enjoy Jay Kelly looking at the fascinating subject of surrogate motherhood,

Lunch..everyone always raves about the food here! Fresh produce,olive oil…fruit and almonds…yum..

Friday afternoon we will look through self care…in many forms..a relaxing afternoon to scan our bodies to see where we can let go ….shiatsu, rebozo, hands on healing…foot bathing…darn nice!  Share the skills you may have also in an exchange to get to know each other better…

Friday evening free for fire side chats, singing  and drumming that The Valley is famous for!

Saturday we will engage our brains with lots of tips to make birth flow…looking at the uterus as an all mighty organ with Fiona Ruddle, Midwife and teacher gives an empowering feeling ….make anatomy and physiology exiting!

After tea we will have a top tips circle and really enjoy the varied herbalists, homeopaths, Midwives and lots of other wise women’s views on…common dilemmas in child birth.. oh and what’s in the Home Birth bag!


As we are working towards creating a post modern midwifery accreditation we will discuss & brain storm what we need to be as Birth keepers in this new world, what is missing in education and how we can fill those gaps.


After tea in the afternoon we will have some fun with role playing our favourite Birth stories do you have an amazing birth you would like to share!

Sat evening is partytime! We are famous for brilliant parties her so bring a sequinned number and dance all the frustrations of our crazy lives out to brilliant tunes …….💃🏼🕺🏽🕺🏽🎉

Sunday we will have a slow start after our party…

11am we will meet in the temple for our ‘Essence of birth’ workshop a beautiful time to nurture each other and hold a little of the magic of the oasis to take home.


At 2pm we will enjoy lunch together at Barakas everyone’s favourite restaurant. ( 13€ pp 3 courses)

To join us we ask £150 which covers camping, workshops, lunches and party….please do contact me if you wish to come but it is finanacially a struggle as we wish everyone the chance to be with us.


Maybe you have a skill to share or you want to stay a few days longer and can do some gardening! We are open…
